The Challenge

Manually monitoring competitor activities in the Facebook Ads Library is a tedious, time-consuming process. Marketing teams often spend hours copying and pasting ad details, page IDs, and category information into spreadsheets. This manual entry is not only slow but also prone to human error and data duplication, making it difficult to scale outreach or competitive research.

The Solution

I developed a sophisticated n8n workflow that automates the entire extraction process. The system begins with a simple custom form where the user enters an Ads Library URL and the desired number of records.

The technical core of the project involves:

  • API Orchestration: Connecting n8n to the Apify scraping engine to extract granular data like Page Names, Likes, Total Ad Counts, and Category information.
  • Intelligent Polling: A logic-based "Wait and Switch" system that monitors the scraping progress in real-time, ensuring the workflow only proceeds once the data is fully ready.
  • Data Integrity: A specialized loop that checks every extracted record against an existing Google Sheets database using the unique Page ID to prevent duplicates.
  • Automated Delivery: Cleanly formatted data is appended to a structured "BoostBiz Leads" spreadsheet for immediate use by sales and marketing teams.
